SS Aviles, Indians Destroy Brewers 12-0 to Force Game 5
|
In a crucial game, the Cleveland (Rk+) Indians put on their best show, beating the Helena Brewers by a final score of 12-0 today. Elias Aviles threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Cleveland (Rk+) and Helena are now tied at 2 wins apiece in the best-of-5 affair.
The Indians benefited from an error in the top of the second inning. Cleveland (Rk+) was leading 2-0 when Jason Boyce hit a 2-run single that was misplayed. It put Cleveland (Rk+) in front, 4-0.
"We'll savor this win," Boyce told the Cleveland (Rk+) Daily News, "then get ready for the next game."
Game 5 is set to be played Thursday in Avalon. Slated to start are Mike Sayre for the Helena Brewers and Matt Ledbetter for the the Cleveland (Rk+) Indians.
