Nationals Hammered by Unknown, Drop Game 2 to Pelicans

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans relied on the hitting of catcher Jim Unknown to get by the Potomac Nationals, 7-5, in Game 2 of the Round 2 today. For the game, Unknown went 1 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The clubs are now tied, 1-1.
Myrtle Beach grabbed control in the top of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Leo Rodriguez delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 6-5 in favor of the Pelicans.
"The competition leap this year was tough to adjust to and I feel like there has been another jump in the playoffs," said Unknown, a rookie this season. "You're only playing the best now and everyone has time to rest and prepare for you."
Game 3 is set to be played Saturday at TicketReturn.com Field at Pelicans Ballpark in Myrtle Beach. The scheduled starters for the game are Vinny Guerrero for the Potomac Nationals and Cesar Mendez for the the Myrtle Beach Pelicans.
