Royals on to Round 2
The Kansas City (AZL) Royals took time to celebrate with the Kansas City (AZL) fans who stuck around after the game, following the team's Round 1 triumph over the Texas (AZL) Rangers.

Members of the Royals hung around chatting, high-fiving and taking pictures with the Kansas City (AZL) fans in attendance at Surprise Stadium, long after the last pitch had been thrown in their 4-1 win to seal the series 3-1.

"We've got great fan support," said right fielder Steve Carbonneau. "Whether we're at home or on the road, the fans support us. So we wanted to show them how important that is to us. Some Texas (AZL) fans that were there even congratulated us on the win."

For the series, Carbonneau hit .333 with a .500 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, 4 RBI and scored 3 runs.

Things weren't so cordial on the Rangers side of things. Their clubhouse was closed to media after the game and all players and coaches quickly dressed and left the stadium after the end to their season.

The Kansas City (AZL) Royals will play against the Milwaukee (AZL) Brewers in the next round. Milwaukee (AZL) won their series against the Los Angeles A (AZL) Angels 3 games to 0. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
