Braves Win Round 1
|
Fans of the Asheville Tourists groaned when Enrique Saenz stepped up to the plate in the Round 1.
And for good reason too, as the Rome Braves player was instrumental in guiding his team to a 3-1 series win over the Tourists.
The series was clinched tonight at McCormick Field, with Rome coming out on top 9-3 in the deciding game.
Saenz's strong series included a .444 batting average, with a .474 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 4 RBI and scored 3 runs.
The Rome Braves will play against the Hickory Crawdads in the next round. Hickory won their series against the Delmarva Shorebirds 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
