With catcher Joe Floyd leading the charge, the Richmond Flying Squirrels defeated the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 6-5, at The Diamond. Floyd was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Richmond reliever Aubrey DeLuca picked up the win, while Glen Trecker took the loss for New Hampshire. The Flying Squirrels now have a record of 11-20.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Richmond trailing 5-4, Floyd jumped on a fastball from 25-year old left-handed pitcher Glen Trecker and hit a 2-run home run to center. With one swing, the Flying Squirrels had a walk-off win.

"Even warm beer tastes good after a win," said Floyd.
