Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Thunder beat the Yard Goats.

The Trenton Thunder beat the Hartford Yard Goats, 5-3, at Arm & Hammer Park. Trenton left fielder Glenn Welch had an outstanding performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times. Jeff Tinch collected his 3rd save.

Chi-Cuong Phuc, the Trenton first baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third inning to make the score 2-0, Thunder. For the game, Phuc was 1-4.

"I'm proud of the way our guys played today to come out with this win," Phuc told the Trenton Chronicle.

The triumph makes Trenton 10-21.
