Mets Handed 3-2 Loss by Richmond
|
Bill Caudell pitched well, but the Binghamton Mets still lost the game, falling 3-2 to the Richmond Flying Squirrels at The Diamond. Colin Orr got the save, the 1st for him this season. Richmond has 3 straight wins, Binghamton 5 straight losses.
The Flying Squirrels got a big at-bat from designated hitter Matt Gill. For the game, Gill went 1-3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Richmond a 3-1 lead.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Richmond manager Matt Bent. "It's usually not just one thing."
