Benefiting from Riley Sanders's productive game, the Portland Sea Dogs downed the Reading Fightin Phils, 5-3. Sanders was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Sea Dogs. Tyler Ropson stitched up the save, his 4th. The Fightin Phils, at 9-22, have lost 5 in a row.

Sanders had a timely hit for Portland in the bottom of the eighth. With Portland trailing 3-1, he turned a 0-1 curveball into a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 5-3, Portland.
