The Richmond Flying Squirrels knocked off the Harrisburg Senators, 14-3, in Eastern League action at FNB Field. Richmond pitcher and Castle Hills, Texas, native Tim Solomon had an outstanding performance. Solomon, who leads the EL in wins with 5, went the distance for Richmond. He gave up 3 runs on 4 hits. Richmond now sits at 13-19, while Harrisburg falls to 14-17.

Richmond shortstop Adam Ross contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the second. With two down, he hit a fastball to center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 29th hit of the season and put the Flying Squirrels ahead, 3-0.

"We hit the ball hard," said Richmond manager Fernando Melendez. "Line drive after line drive."
