Binghamton and Harrisburg got after it at NYSEG Stadium.

The timely hitting of Manny Contreras helped the Binghamton Mets down the Harrisburg Senators, 8-2. Contreras went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 times and driving in 5 for the Mets. Hector Carrillo got the win, improving to 2-3. He held the Senators to 2 runs on 5 hits over 9 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 2.

With Binghamton leading 2-0 in the bottom of the first, Contreras hit a 2-run single off Harrisburg hurler Vic Torres. It was the 6th hit of the season for Contreras and put his team ahead, 4-0.

"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Contreras told the Binghamton Daily.

The 5th-place Mets improved to 16-18.
