The Hartford Yard Goats took Akron pitcher Josh Chapin's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Canal Park. The final score had Hartford getting past the RubberDucks, 3-2. Chapin went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 4. Hartford pitcher Jacob Caba got the win. He's now 2-0. Raul Novoa was tagged with the loss. Hartford has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.

Hartford used the timely hitting of Miguel Mendoza to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Yard Goats on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

In postgame remarks, Mendoza simply said: "Here's to a great win!"
