Sea Dogs Over Senators, 3-1
|
The Portland Sea Dogs wanted a good start from Justin Batey -- and he delivered one. The result was a 3-1 Portland win over the Harrisburg Senators at FNB Field. Batey, now 4-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing no runs. The first-place Sea Dogs hiked their record to 20-18.
Chris Farrugia, who is tied for 4th in the EL in triples with 2, had a direct impact on the outcome. Farrugia contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Portland up, 2-0.
"A confident pitcher is a dangerous thing," said Portland manager Dennis Owens. "That's what Justin is right now."
