Edwards Slams 5 Hits for Reading
Josh Edwards exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Prince George's Stadium.

The Reading first baseman had a field day in the 7-5 triumph over the Bowie Baysox, finishing 5-for-5.

"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."

Edwards must have focused at least 5 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Josh Edwards singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Jake Rowell in the 6th and singled in the 9th.

Edwards is presently batting .272 with 9 home runs, 20 runs scored and 29 RBIs. His OBP is .303.
