The Bowie Baysox earned a close win over the Reading Fightin Phils, thanks in part to Eric Thomas. The Bowie right-hander, who is tied for 2nd in the EL in strikeouts with 57, played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Thomas got the win, improving to 3-3. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Their 18-20 record puts the Baysox last in the Southern Division.

The Baysox got a big at-bat from right fielder Nanni Buanoroti. For the game, Buanoroti was 2 for 3 with a triple and a double. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 8th double of the season gave Bowie a 2-1 lead.
