Fightin Phils Deal Baysox 8-0 Setback
Bowie had no answer for Reading Fightin Phils hurler Bobby Thompson, who overwhelmed Baysox hitters as the Fightin Phils coasted to victory, 8-0. Thompson picked up the win for Reading, going 5.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 2-3. Manny Robledo closed it out for Reading, earning his 1st save.

Fernando Serrano had a big bases-clearing double for the Fightin Phils in the bottom of the first inning. With Reading leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from Petteri Kuoppala, who is tied for 5th in the EL in complete games with 1, and swatted a double to right. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Fightin Phils ahead, 5-0.

"We'll need a much better effort, the next time out," said losing manager Seth Dugas.

The victory makes Reading 12-28.
