The Akron RubberDucks took Bowie pitcher George Bennett's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Canal Park. The final score had Akron getting past the Baysox, 6-4. Bennett went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 6. The winner in relief was Garrett Everett. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 4 innings. Akron is now 17-25.

Akron won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Wilson Condori on the mound for Bowie, shortstop Roger Gallacher hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing RubberDucks fans to their feet.

"This place sure got loud," said Chris Knowlton, the Akron manager.
