Win Makes Yard Goats 25-19
|
The Hartford Yard Goats got a good effort from starter Mike Wood in defeating the Richmond Flying Squirrels at New Britain Stadium. The final score was 5-2. Wood, now 5-3, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The save was credited to David Bliss, his 1st.
Bill Larimer hit a 2-run triple off Max Camarena in the bottom of the seventh, which put the Yard Goats in front, 4-2. Larimer had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 4.
"Mike made his pitches," said Hartford manager Dimitri Kourtis.
The Yard Goats saw their win-loss record go to 25-19. At the same time, the Flying Squirrels fell to 25-19.
