In a low-scoring contest between the Binghamton Mets and the Reading Fightin Phils, Justin Meyer was the X factor. The Binghamton right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Reliever Danny Perez picked up the win. His record improves to 1-0. Matt Cant took the loss. The victory gives Binghamton a record of 23-21.
The Mets got a clutch hit from center fielder Gil Berrios. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Mets.
"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Berrios said in his postgame press conference.
