The Trenton Thunder picked up a win at Arm & Hammer Park, knocking off the Akron RubberDucks, 7-2. On the mound for Trenton was right-hander Rob Juarez. He played a key role in the triumph. J.P. Van Nostrand earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 2.2 innings. His record is now 2-7. Trenton currently is in last place in the Northern Division at 14-30.

Trenton took a 4-2 lead on Bill Lester's 2nd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Lester hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Akron pitcher Matt Woods visibly frustrated.

"Rob is a gamer," said Trenton manager Melvin Slosar.
