Pat Maye imposed his will on the Baysox from the get-go. Relying mainly on his fastball, the right-hander spearheaded the 4-1 Altoona triumph. Altoona occupies second place in the Southern Division at 29-16.

The Curve got a gift in the top of the eighth inning, when they were leading 2-1. With two out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Danny Flores reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 2 runs. It made the score 4-1, Altoona.

"Pat was hitting his spots," said Altoona manager Gerardo Zarco. "It's hard to pitch better than that."
