Baysox Tuck Away 3-1 Win Over Akron
|
Dave Benedict, who is tied for 8th in the EL in quality starts with 6, was in top form in a tight contest between Bowie and Akron. The Baysox right-hander helped his team beat the RubberDucks, 3-1. The winning pitcher was Benedict, now 6-3. He tossed 5.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 7. Picking up the save was Adrian Scudder, his 3rd.
The Baysox prevailed in a game in which the pitchers had the upper hand.
"Dave pitched the ball pretty freaking great," said Bowie manager Seth Dugas.
The setback makes Akron 12-34.
