Altoona 28-18 After 3-1 Win Over Trenton
In a low-scoring game between Altoona and Trenton, pitcher Scott Connell was excellent. The Altoona left-hander helped his team knock off the Thunder, 3-1. Connell, the winner, moves to 5-0. He threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Sid Massagli recorded the save for Altoona, his 13th of the season.

In the top of the ninth, Dusty Biglin stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Thunder were trailing 3-1, but had runners on 1st and 2nd. That's when Sid Massagli made a terrific pitch and Biglin struck out. Gone was the dream of a Trenton comeback.

With the victory, the Curve record stands at 28-18.
