Fisher Cats Drop Flying Squirrels, 3-1
|
Northeast Delta Dental Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Richmond Flying Squirrels and New Hampshire Fisher Cats.
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats had to overcome a good performance from Richmond pitcher Brian McQuain to claim a 3-1 win at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium. McQuain went 8 innings and allowed 3 runs. Preston Holub earned the save for New Hampshire, his 4th.
Had Juan Garcia not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Garcia hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Fisher Cats.
"You win some, you lose some. I don't get too caught up in all that," said Garcia.
New Hampshire sits in 4th place in the Northern Division at 22-26.
