Mets Take Down Flying Squirrels, 2-1

The Richmond Flying Squirrels could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Rod Strader into a win. Instead, the Binghamton Mets prevailed, 2-1. Strader threw 6.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Binghamton pitcher Roberto Cabrera got the win. He's now 2-0. Rod Strader was tagged with the loss. The Mets now own a record of 21-28.
Keith Butler helped out the Binghamton cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the designated hitter went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks.
"Tough loss," said Richmond manager Mike Crumbly. "Tough one to swallow."
