The Altoona Curve had to overcome a fine effort from Binghamton pitcher William Fosbinder to win, 4-3, in 12 innings at NYSEG Stadium. Fosbinder went 8.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. Shawn Margulies was the winner in relief. His record is now 2-2. The losing pitcher was Juan Martinez. At 20-27, the Curve are currently 5th in the Southern Division.

Altoona used a timely hit from Felipe Herrera to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 12th inning to put the Curve ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.

"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant Rene Almanza, the Altoona manager.
