|
Bobby Villalobos was a major contributor to the 4-1 Portland win over Richmond. The Sea Dogs designated hitter went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. Josh Richards, the winning pitcher, is now 3-0. He went 6.1 innings, allowing 1 run on 5 hits, while fanning 6 and walking 3. Dane Iwan, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 2nd save.
Antonio Torres, the 21-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Torres contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Portland up, 3-0.
"Nice win for us," said Villalobos. "Now we'll go after the next one."
Portland is 24-27 and Richmond, with the loss, 28-23.
