Thunder Nip Yard Goats, 5-4
|
The Trenton Thunder handed the Hartford Yard Goats a loss at Arm & Hammer Park. The final score was 5-4. Major production was provided by Jack Duval for Trenton. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 1. He also added 2 walks. Trenton reliever John Hall was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Jose Moreno took the loss. The last-place Thunder are now 14-40, the Yard Goats 37-18.
The Thunder were down to their final out when first baseman Denzel Carter turned a 0-1 slider from Jose Moreno into a 2-run single. The walk-off single made the Arm & Hammer Park crowd go wild.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Duval.
