Grizzlies Lose By a Run at Reno
Opening day festivities have begun throughout the league. Fans of the Reno Aces were eager to watch Matt Mountain square off against Jim Grangroth of the visiting Fresno Grizzlies. In the end, the Aces won the game, 4-3, with Alvin Hessong leading the way. Matt Mountain earned the win for Reno. He lasted 7 innings, allowing 3 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. David Nickerson finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Hessong contributed in the bottom of the second. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 2-run double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Reno get the win.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Fresno manager Mike Gibson. "The effort was great."
