Braves Topple Indians, 7-3
|
The Gwinnett Braves picked up a win at Coolray Field, knocking off the Indianapolis Indians, 7-3. Starting pitcher Tim Hall was a big reason why. Hall, now 3-3, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 8, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. The Braves saw their record improve to 17-18.
In the bottom of the first, Rich Thomas delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Gwinnett shortstop hit a 2-run single, putting the Braves in front, 7-3.
"The key at this level is throwing strike one," said Hall. "Successful pitchers do it."
