Bisons Top Chiefs, 3-1

Buffalo and Syracuse played a hard-fought contest.
The Buffalo Bisons topped the Syracuse Chiefs, 3-1, in International League action at NBT Bank Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Buffalo pitcher Bill Higgins. Mario Manzo locked down his 5th save.
Matt McCutcheon contributed to the Buffalo win with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth. For the game, the third baseman had 2 hits in 2 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 runs batted in.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Higgins.
With the victory, the Bisons upped their record to 27-12.
