Moore Lifts Red Wings to 6-3 Win
|
Led by Kevin Moore, the Rochester Red Wings downed the Scranton WB RailRiders, 6-3. Moore went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 3 for the Red Wings. Alex Serrano, who is tied for 5th in the IL in innings pitched with 58.1, was the winning pitcher. Over 6 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts. The Red Wings, at 18-23, sit in 5th place in the North Division.
Had Tyler Blanche not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Blanche hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Red Wings.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Blanche told the Rochester Bulletin.
