Conditions were not ideal but Gwinnett and Charlotte were able to put their game in the books.

Colin Garton was a major factor in the 7-2 Gwinnett win over Charlotte. The Braves second baseman slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. With the win, Gwinnett raised its record to 23-19.

With Gwinnett leading 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Garton hit a fastball from Roberto Aguilar for a 2-run home run. It was his 8th home run of the season and put the Braves ahead, 3-0.

Garton attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
