Rochester Keeps Trending in Wrong Direction
|
Syracuse Chiefs starter Terry Gordon pitched a strong game against the Rochester Red Wings at NBT Bank Stadium, leading the Chiefs to victory, 6-4. Ray Koval recorded his 3rd save for Syracuse. The losses continue to mount for Rochester, which has now dropped 7 in a row.
Mike Collings had a big bases-clearing double for the Chiefs in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Syracuse leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Jaden Mines, the 23rd overall pick in the 2108 draft, and swatted a double to center. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Chiefs ahead, 5-1.
"Good, gritty kind of win," said Chiefs manager Phil Burkel.
