|
The Pawtucket Red Sox polished off the Lehigh Valley IronPigs by the score of 8-3. The largest share of the credit belonged to first baseman Stephon Houston. Houston went 2 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice for the Red Sox. Alberto Bustillo got the win, improving to 5-3. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 5. Pawtucket has 3 straight wins, Lehigh Valley 3 straight losses.
With Pawtucket leading 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh, Houston hit a fastball from Roger (Eben) Penn for a grand slam home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Red Sox ahead, 8-3.
