Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Yard Goats
|
The Hartford Yard Goats picked up a win at Jerry Uht Park, knocking off the Erie SeaWolves, 6-4. On the mound for Hartford was right-hander Nicol Reijnders, who played a pivotal role in the win. The loss makes Erie 32-20.
Hartford used the clutch hitting of Mark Bevan to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the 11th inning to give the Yard Goats the lead, 4-3. For the game, Bevan had 1 single and 1 double in 5 at-bats.
"They played a better game than we did," said Erie skipper Ezequiel Leon.
