Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Chiefs beat the Mud Hens.

The Syracuse Chiefs got a good effort from starter Peyton Scarola in defeating the Toledo Mud Hens at NBT Bank Stadium. The final score was 3-0. The win went to Bill Solis in relief. His record improves to 5-4. Alex Cofer took the loss.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the eighth, with the game tied, Manny Alas was at the plate when Syracuse scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Chiefs to go in front, 1-0.

Syracuse manager Mark Holgate called it "a good, solid win."

Syracuse is first in the North Division with a record of 25-19.
