The Altoona Curve defeated the Bowie Baysox, 6-1, at People's Natural Gas Field. Altoona was led by 24-year old right fielder Steve Urich, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Altoona reliever Ben Mullan picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Omari Heaver took the loss. Altoona now has a record of 32-19 with the win.
Moges Mukanda helped out the Altoona cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the center fielder went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We didn't play well enough to win," Bowie skipper Seth Dugas said.
