Durham beat Scranton WB at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Matt Dobson. He was 2-3 with a home run and a walk. Durham reliever Kyle Currence picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Nick Daniel was saddled with the loss. Durham is now 19-26, Scranton WB 18-26.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Durham. That's when Jay Burney hit a run-scoring double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Nick Daniel to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"He who laughs last laughs best," Dobson said, postgame.
