The Pawtucket Red Sox rode a solid performance from 26-year-old starting pitcher Mario Perez to a win, beating the Charlotte Knights, 4-2, at McCoy Stadium. Tony Torro was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save. The win makes Pawtucket 22-24.

Nick Olds helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 2-0, Red Sox.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Perez. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
