The Rochester Red Wings topped the Indianapolis Indians, 4-3, in International League action at Frontier Field. The standout performance belonged to Rochester pitcher and Los Angeles, California, native Alan Weirauch. Weirauch, now 5-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 7, walking 5, and allowing 3 runs. Rochester now sits at 24-22, while Indianapolis falls to 22-23.

Gene Homann drove in one run for Rochester. The 25-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Taurino Ramirez. It was his 14th RBI of the season.

"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Indianapolis skipper John LaRossa.
