SeaWolves Pin 10-4 Loss on Binghamton
|
Though he had a terrific game, Jonathan Battle could not prevent his team, the Binghamton Mets, from absorbing a loss. Erie won the game, 10-4. Battle slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Willie Gutierrez earned the win for Erie. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits, while striking out 5. With the win, he raised his record to 2-0. Juan Vence finished the game for Erie and earned his 10th save.
In the bottom of the third, Erie first baseman Alberto Servantez had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Servantez stroked a 2-run single to center. It made the score 2-0, Erie. For the game, he went 1 for 3, while adding 2 RBI.
In comments to the Erie News, Servantez insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
The victory gives Erie a record of 31-19.
