The Buffalo Bisons withstood an impressive performance by Durham third baseman Willie Torres to defeat the Bulls, 6-4, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Torres slugged 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Their 34-15 record puts the Bisons first in the North Division.

Buffalo used a timely hit from Greg Phillips to get the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 11th inning to put the Bisons ahead, 6-4. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"Winning is the only objective," said Phillips after the game.
