Red Wings Fell Bats, 3-0
|
Dedicated fans weathered the storm to watch their beloved Red Wings beat the Bats.
In a low-scoring tilt between the Rochester Red Wings and the Louisville Bats, Nick Kaiser was the difference-maker. The Rochester left-hander spearheaded the 3-0 win. Kaiser, now 2-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 5, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Ryan Sassi got credit for the save for Rochester. It was his 2nd of the year.
In the bottom of the fourth, Rochester first baseman Donovan Washington had a productive at-bat. With the bases loaded and one out, Washington stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 2-0, Rochester. For the game, he was 1-2 with a walk, while adding 2 RBI.
"Good win for us," said Washington. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
Rochester now has a record of 27-24 with the win.
