Braves Lose Late to RailRiders
|
Scranton WB and Gwinnett played a hard-fought contest.
The Scranton WB RailRiders picked up a win at Coolray Field, dropping the Gwinnett Braves, 3-1. Mike Rice, who is tied for 5th in the IL in strikeouts with 69, was the difference-maker. Scranton WB reliever Tony Rodriguez was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Dan Saltzman took the loss.
Luis Carbajal delivered a big hit for Scranton WB. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the RailRiders ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"I had everything working," said Rice.
Scranton WB, at 22-29, sits in 4th place in the North Division.
