DeMaio Delivers Walk-Off Win for Chiefs
The Syracuse Chiefs overcame a good performance by Indianapolis designated hitter Kevin Wallace to knock off Indianapolis, 9-8, at NBT Bank Stadium. Wallace was 3 for 7 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Syracuse reliever Johnny Reed picked up the win to move to 1-4. Glenn Farish suffered the loss. With the win, Syracuse has a record of 24-27. Indianapolis falls to 26-26.

The Chiefs procured the win, in large part because of third baseman David DeMaio. In the bottom of the 12th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"What a buzz," said DeMaio after it was over.
