Omar Flores left his imprint on the 8-6 Syracuse win against the Indianapolis Indians. Flores was 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Syracuse, at 25-27, occupies 5th place in the North Division.

Flores had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a 0-2 fastball from Jeff Leoni, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Chiefs a 7-6 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Flores.

Chiefs manager Ernesto Miramontes wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
