Braves 6-3 Winners Versus Indianapolis
|
With center fielder Cesar Licon leading the charge, the Gwinnett Braves defeated the Indianapolis Indians, 6-3, at Victory Field. Licon went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Picking up the save was Jeff Hartzell, his 2nd. The win elevated the Braves to 28-24.
Licon had a game-changing home run in the top of the seventh. On a 0-1 slider from Aaron Gunia, he banged a 2-run home run to left-center, giving the Braves a 5-3 lead. It was the 6th home run of the year for Licon.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Licon.
