Red Wings Losers, 7-3, to Toledo

The Toledo Mud Hens defeated the Rochester Red Wings, 7-3. Left Fielder Josh Skinner deserved a large share of the credit. Skinner hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Mud Hens. The winning pitcher was Ryan Mebust. His record now stands at 2-3. The right-hander went 6.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits for the Mud Hens. The third-place Mud Hens improved to 24-28.
Matt Koch had a big 2-run home run for the Mud Hens in the bottom of the second inning. With Toledo leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Marc Sabean and swatted a home run to right. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mud Hens ahead, 4-0.
Koch called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
