Red Wings Get Clonked by Indians, 4-2
|
The Indianapolis Indians had to overcome a fine effort from Rochester pitcher Tony Macias to win, 4-2, at Victory Field. Macias went 6 innings and allowed 4 runs. Antonio Cruz recorded the save for Indianapolis, his 11th of the season. The first-place Red Wings dropped to 27-26.
The Indians got a big at-bat from third baseman Pat Wilson. For the game, Wilson was 1 for 3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 6th double of the season gave Indianapolis a 3-1 lead.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Wilson told the Indianapolis Citizen.
