Sanchez has 3 hits in Braves Win

The Gwinnett Braves beat the Syracuse Chiefs, 9-4, at Coolray Field. Julio Sanchez, in particular, was impressive. He was 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The winning pitcher was 26-year old right-handed pitcher Lance Hearty. He tossed 106 pitches over 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. The first-place Braves now have a win-loss record of 31-23.
The Chiefs had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Braves going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old second baseman Mike Lundstrom came to the plate. Lundstrom hit a 2-run double on a first pitch changeup from Syracuse hurler Bill Robinson. It was Lundstrom's 2nd double of the year.
"We took advantage of our opportunities," Lundstrom told the Gwinnett Gazette. "It's as simple as that."
