Red Wings Top Indians, 7-0
|
The Rochester Red Wings got a stellar performance from pitcher Alberto Marshall, who handcuffed the Indianapolis offense en route to a win, 7-0, at Frontier Field. Marshall, now 1-2, was the winner. In 5 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Today's win puts Rochester at 28-27, while Indianapolis falls to 27-28.
The game could have flipped with one out in the top of the fifth. But Alberto Marshall made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With runners on 1st and 2nd and Indianapolis trailing 3-0, Marshall threw a slider to Collin Toth and Toth struck out.
