Tides Lose to Columbus, 5-0
|
At Huntington Park, the Norfolk Tides and Columbus Clippers were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
Dan Lash pitched a gem to lead Columbus to victory over the Norfolk Tides, 5-0. The Clippers go to 27-28, putting them third in the West Division.
Kevin Macias had a big 3-run home run for the Clippers in the bottom of the second inning. With Columbus leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a changeup from 27-year old right-handed pitcher Dan Lunnen and punished it. The result was his 2nd home run of the season, which put the Clippers on top, 5-0.
"It never gets old," said Macias. "Winning, that is."
