Bisons Lose By a Run at Syracuse
|
The Syracuse Chiefs, despite a fine performance by Buffalo pitcher John Mitchell, grabbed a 3-2 win at NBT Bank Stadium. Mitchell allowed 3 runs over 6.1 innings. Syracuse reliever Sam Payne was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was John Mitchell. With this game in the books, Syracuse is 33-23, Buffalo 33-24.
Zach Lewis drove in one run for Syracuse. The 27-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off John Mitchell. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
Lewis attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."
