IronPigs Drop Contest, 1-0, to Rochester
|
The Rochester Red Wings got a stellar performance from pitcher Nick Kaiser, who handcuffed the Lehigh Valley offense en route to a win, 1-0, at Coca-Cola Park. Efrain Espinoza converted his 9th save in 11 tries. The 5th-place Red Wings raised their record to 29-28.
It could have been a different outcome for Rochester, had it not been for Matt McElhose, the former first round draft pick . McElhose contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the seventh inning to put Rochester up, 1-0.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Lehigh Valley skipper Steve Capps.
